Hmm, how is it that Sega's Nights is in a retro category? Didn't that game come out in 1996 or 97 on the Saturn? If that qualifies as retro, then maybe the Nintendo 64 is retro, too.

Might as well cover the Wii version

The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark

Because Howard Scott Warshaw owns when he's not writing a game in a month.

The Making of Treasure Island Dizzy
With Dizzy proving to be a slow-burning hit, the Oliver twins soon found themselves working on a sequel. The twins reveal the difficulties on making the anticipated follow-up.
Did anyone outside the UK play any Dizzy games? Weren't there like 600 Dizzy games? Is Dizzy like ... the UK Mario?

The Making of the Strike Franchise
Part blaster, part strategy title, EA's Strike games had something for everyone.
A lot of people were really into this franchise ... certainly wasn't for me.

    Skate or Die
Did you guys discuss that the killer digital guitar riff on the title screen didn't work right on next-gen compatible computers like the C128?

    Zoo Keeper
    The killer arcade greed game?

My last issue was the Donkey Kong one, I need to get over to Barnes & Noble and get the "Latest" one. GRRR, I hope I don't miss it.

But like Flare said, since when is 1996 or so considered "Retro"? :P

Since people, when asked about N64, Playstation, Dreamcast, Saturn, and Jaguar, all say "Man, that's an old old system".

It's goin back 10 freakin years. It's not that old. Atari, old. Colecovision, old. Dick Clark, old.

Its old because when you ask the current gen of gamer about "Retro" to them it was the first system they played, N64 or Playstation. :P

Only around 8 actual platformers I think which are the only ones worth playing. All the others were spin offs of things like River Raid (Dizzy Down The Rapids) or Burger Time (Dizzy Snax).

Seriously, play the platformers, I did them all but 2 last year and they are certainly worth a look back.

I'd be interested in the Retroinspection - Sinclair ZX81 article as it was my first 'puter. 1k of memory, no sound, B&W block graphics. It truly was a beast of a machine.
I spent many a happy hour typing in machine code programs from Your Computer Magazine only for them to crash. Remember kids, always save your code to tape BEFORE running it for the first time.
