the small planets and limited backgrounds (space and err space?) will hopefully be overcome - this could be great

My gut reaction is that this new controller and the physics had better be tightly tuned and intuitive. I did far better at the NES and SNES era Mario games than the Game Cube ones. I loved the graphics, tricks, puzzles and multi dimensional play but it is more than my slow sausage fingers can handle on the GC controller. I likes Mario Sunshine but those jumps were just killing me and taking away the fun. I love what I am seeing in this new mario, I just hope I can do what I am seeing in this new mario.....

Looks cool... hopefully the levels aren't too short. Also, it looks like a potentially dizzying experience running around all those little spheres!

They're kidding, right??? I'm all for new Mario games, (even DS), but is it just me, or does any one character who has gone into space just a sign they're running out of ideas?!

Ex: "Leprechaun in Space" and the James Bond film, "Moonraker".

It occurs to me that if Mario and Luigi are plumbers, shouldn't there be a game where they become trapped in the plumbing of the Mushroom Kingdom???....oh wait, that sounds like one of the late 80's cartoon plots. Never mind!

exactly my doubts

the environments, so far, look small and lacking in variety. its early days but i hope they can flesh out the worlds with enough variety

I realized that, strangely, there was no Official Super Mario Galaxy thread, so I thought I'd create one. (I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here.)
