I'm waiting for the 'Final Fantasy sucks' even though its one of the most successful console series ever made with 12 games and currently going.

    Well....

<Peter Griffin> FINAL FANTASY SUCKS.... SO THERE HA HA YOU HEAR ME HA HA!! </Peter Griffin>

Seriously, I am not surprised at this. Looks like Bill Gates is going to do what he does best - which is buy out the video game market even if it takes years to do so.

    "Resistance is futile" I guess....

NFL = New England Patriots (AFC) & Minnesota Vikings (NFC)
MLS = New England Revolution (East) & LA Galaxy (West)

Figures. Square has always jumped to the system with the best graphics.

I don't really care. I'm still sticking with Nintendo and Sony. You get the best spread with that combo. Well, IMO.

Bah! Final Fantasy is the "Street Fighter" of RPGs. The series has become rehashed & tired out. Time for Final Fantasy to FINALLY DIE! Final Fantasy is the perfect reason why Jap RPGs suck ass. Screw Final Fantasy, give me SSI's D&D style stat-based RPGs.

I love Japanese RPG's. I like the story element.

American RPG's all have the same story, Evil Wizard has plunged the country in a state of doom and the kingdom has given you the generic sworsman the task of killing him.

Japanese RPG's follow cliches also, but they still have more flair. American RPG's need more style.

And if I ever lose one of my hands, I can still play Japanese RPG's.

I don't think this will make much of a difference. This guy may be credited for creating Final Fantasy but unless the games are going to have FF in the title no one will care.

I'm not too keen on American RPGs but the few I have played (Fallout 2 for instance) blows most Japanese RPG's out of the water ... but then again, comparing Final Fantasy to Fallout is like comparing apples and oranges so they should really be considered different genres.

    American RPG's need more style.
I hope by "style" you don't mean "anime" style because I've seen it done and it's always lacking something. Let the Japanese do anime RPGs and let American (and Canadians and Europeans) concentrate on creating their own styles.

Well Xbox has better graphics than PS2 and Square isnt developing for them. Anyway, this news has nothing to do with Square because the creator of Final Fantasy left Square years ago. He has his own company now. This is a good move for Microsoft because they definitely need Japanese style RPG's for it's system to suceed in Japan.

I don't necessarily mean anime. I just think that they look a tad bland or generic looking. I think Fable looks excellent. Though that's made in the UK.

Thing that bothers me about anime is the feminine looking male leads who are 17 years old but somehow become the greatest warrior. That pisses me off. Happens a lot in Gundam. Berserk thankfully breaks that and turns the feminine male into the villian while the guy with a ton of muscle is the lead.

What the hell was this about?
