Will the superkey work with the GBA movie player SD?

I have the old SD GBA movie player, and somewhat recently it got a firmware update that let it work with passme devices, so long as its one of the newer ones that doesnt requre the slot 2 device to have its own ram. And now the GBAMP reportedly has its own DLDI patch. So I spoted that the superkey is quite cheap at jandaman, coming in at under $20 shipped. I also eventualy plan to get the SD Supercard, for the gba compatiblity.

So if I pull the trigger on the superkey, before the supercard, what kind of compatibility should I expect, both hombrew, and commertial?

(Oh, and I understand the ulimate soulution is both slot 1 and 2 flash cards at the same time, but I'm tight on funds.)

The passme device is just a key to reroute the bootstrap stuff to the slot 2 card. It really doesn't matter which one you get - shouldn't affect compatibility.

However, consider that you'll be overlapping spending if someday you get a slot 1 device that has a passme built in (i.e. the R4).

I've read up on it, and there realy are compatibilty issues. Some passmes requre that the flashcard have some kind of on board ram to work, some don't. The cards without this ram are usaly the ones that have minimal (gbamp), to no (anything with rumble) gba rom support.

I've got a Superkey on the way, and I'm scraping up for a Supercard SD now, so I shouldent have to worry about this problem for much longer, anyway.

As for geting a slot one solution, not to mention I would have to get a new micro sd memory card, Its going to be some time before I can blow that kind of money at onece.
