An Atari 2600 game on a best video game music list, seriously? Most people would probably acknowledge that the system was iconic sounding, but memorable music tracks? Not so much. If there was one company capable of getting the most out of the 2600 it was Activision. Time after time they pushed the machine beyond what it should have been capable of, Pressure Cooker is another example of catchy Activision music, and nobody pushed the system like David Crane. Not only is Pitfall 2 a great game, but in my opinion it has the best music of any 2600 title. Have a listen and remember that by all rights you should be hearing the limited beeps of combat.
