      Great article Alex! There is so much software available on the Wii right now though so do we really need more games released on the Wii? If you look at the amount of first party software Nintendo churned out for the Wii and compared that to the other consoles I think you will find that Nintendo out performed the competition this generation. I think it is good that Nintendo is focusing its energy on developing sofware for the Wii U since that is their future console and that will need all of their best talent to be a success. The Wii does look like a relic compared to the XBox now. Microsoft is constantly updating the UI to their dashboard and adding all kinds of functionality. The Wii UI looks pretty much the same as it did when it was released back in 2006. So yeah I pretty much play on XBox exclusively now. I have played some Skyward Sword and it is a lot of fun too bad it took Nintendo so long to develop a Wii motion plus adventure game. The Wii is still the dominant party console in the house so we will keep playing our collection of party games as a family on the Wii.Again great article. Thanks!

      Hurry up and kick the Wii-Cube to the curb already. Assuming it's worth it, I'll pick up a Wii U at some point and a few of the Wii-Cube games that I would actually play.

      Over here in Europe the Wii is still selling well, and much of the Christmas advertising has been aimed at getting people to buy new bundles - with Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics, or a Wii Fit Plus bundle, or Mario Kart. The games are still selling well, and it's possible to get great secondhand bargains on many titles. Of course some of the bigger names retain their high price.

      But for 2012? What I'd really like to see is greater connectivity between the Wii/WiiU and the DS/3DS. I still feel it is a feature that Nintendo and other developers can exploit more. And I'm intrigued to see what the new WiiU can do - there are hints that some big franchises will be coming to the format, but for me the backwards compatibility is a bonus.
