    Game Features and Information:

    * Players can take to the skies with a jetpack or hovering skateboard-like device to dodge enemy attacks or get a better lock on their targets. Get an extra bonus for staying grounded while avoiding injury. Various stages require understanding intricate patterns as players’ characters side-scroll, race on vehicles or zip in every direction through a devastated post apocalyptic world. Players can fire at targets in the distance or for close-range targets use sword attacks.

    * The precision pointing abilities of the Wii Remote™ controller make targeting enemies a snap. Players have the option of controlling their characters using the Wii Remote-Nunchuk combination, the Classic Controller, the Classic Controller Pro™, Nintendo Gamecube™ controller or the Wii Zapper™.

    * Choose from two playable characters with unique combat abilities.

    * It’s all about the score multiplier. The better a player’s skills, the more multiplier points are earned, and the higher the overall score. Players will want to play the game again and again to beat their personal best on each level.

    * Created by TREASURE, the developers behind Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Gunstar Heroes, the game pushes the boundaries of the shooter genre with horders of enemies, massive bosses and explosive graphics.

    * Endless waves of enemies got you down? A second player can join the fight to dish out twice the punishment.

    * An online international leaderboard lets players see how their scores stack up against players from other countries. Players will play again and again, and try to unlock even more points by figuring out and performing coin and medal-achieving tricks, in order to get an international-caliber score.

Looks like a Space Harrier Clone with a ability to slash things with a sword.. but yeah. I want to play a game like Starfox. I would be interested if this was multiplayer however and had big areans to fly around in.

Ah... unbelievable. Incredible game. Best on-rails shooter on the Wii easily.

It's fantastic--perfectly suited for the Wiimote IR pointer, nunchuk combo.

It's different than typical on-rails shooters like Dead Space Extraction and Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles though, so it's hard to compare. It's more like a third-person SHMUP than an on-rails shooter.

Top shelf stuff though, I love it.

This is actually a real rail shooter whereas the others are "shooting games" (or lightgun shooters). It falls into the same category as Star Fox and Panzer Dragoon. Anyone who criticizes this on the same grounds as Dead Space Extraction and Resident Evil Chronicles is ignorant.

Yup, you're right--I was struggling for the right term and it seems I had it backwards hehe.

Well, yeah, me too! I was just pointing out that the game mechanics are different--not better or worse.

I don't think Nectar is saying those are bad games. They're just not in the same category.

I am the ignorant here for initially saying it was the best "on-rails shooter" on the Wii. The truth is, this is different. It's more like a "scrollable" Cabal or Zombie Panic than Dead Space Extraction, where you move a character around the screen while aiming with the Wiimote or the second analog.

Regardless, Sin & Punishment 2 is a fantastic game. It's typical Treasure, pure mayhem and insanity. The stages are super long and it starts from level 0 (currently I'm on level 2 and I've been playing it for almost 2 hours). The game is a little forgiving because you always restart from the last checkpoint, and you get them rather frequently, but I think the appeal of this game is that this is a thrill ride, the experience of fighting the over-the-top bosses, one after the other.

Granted, I'm only playing in NORMAL mode, perhaps when I move on to HARD, it will become more challenging.

Goes without saying this title is absolutely recommended. One of my favorite Wii games this year.

Boy, the more I play this, the better it gets.

You know, this game reminds me a lot of Space Harrier. I guess this is how that franchise could have evolved.

I don't know why people are getting defensive here. I was referring to criticism along the lines of "Oh great, another rail shooter for the Wii".

Who's getting defensive in this thread? And who's saying that rail shooters for the Wii are bad?

      Dead Space Extraction was awesome.

I love how you engage in these insanely epic battles and at the end, the both characters act so nonchalant about the boss they just defeated. It's almost comical.
