  1. ESRB: Wtf?

Growing up a gamer, I don’t remember there being an ESRB. As a parent and well informed gamer, it’s easy for me to figure out what titles are appropriate for my daughter to play, regardless of the ESRB rating. A coworker recently asked me a few questions on specific titles and I realized that the ESRB ratings are too vague.

For example: if Halo 3’s single player campaign were to be recorded and released as a movie, it would probably be rated PG or worse case scenario PG-13. I’ve played ...

  2. Alan Wake

A few months back I wrote about my experience with Heavy Rain demo. As it turns out the retail version wasn’t much better than the demo. I spent around 4 hours playing Heavy Rain and lost interest. I was a little apprehensive about dumping any “real” money into Alan Wake, since it seemed similar to Heavy Rain: Heavy on the story and light on the gaming. 3. Game Pricing – WTF?

Typically demand dictates the price of goods. I know there are other factors involved, but ultimately the consumer has to decide if a product is worth the price that it is being sold as. How many products do you know garner a set price, regardless of quality, quantity or overall value? Say you’re in the ...

  4. The End May Be Near for Microsoft's Entertainment Division

I guess if I had to pick which of the big 3, I’ve supported the most this generation; I’d probably have to pick Microsoft. Even so, I’m not sure you could consider me a Microsoft fanboy. But ever since E3, I’ve had to reassess my support for the big M and the more I’ve thought about it, the more I realize I’ve probably thrown my support for the wrong company.

My intent here is not to become a Microsoft basher. Even with my current disappointment in the direction of the company, and ...

  5. Medal of Honor - Beta Experience

EA's reboot of the Medal of Honor series created some excitement for those of us who enjoy playing military shooters. During this year's E3, EA unveiled their plans for a Beta release the week following E3 to those customers who pre-ordered Medal of Honor. I figured I'd go ahead and pre-order the game via Amazon as I could easily change my mind later on anyhow.

So the day before the beta was set to be released, EA tweeted that the 360 beta would be delayed a week due to unnamed technical ...
