We really DO pray and help others. Hundreds of years ago, monks survived by baking bread, making wine, or copying manuscripts. We survive by selling ink, toner and copier supplies online, at HUGE discounts...and YOU benefit!

Actually, from the very beginnings of the Christian faith, it's greatest authors spoke of working to make a living for themselves so that they wouldn't have to be a burden to the body of believers. The Apostle Paul was very vocal about how he worked as a tentmaker to support himself and that he, therefore, had no need for the gifts some people chose to send him.

It's great to see a group of religious people being self-sufficient. I'm sure all of us, religious or not, are pretty well tired of the religious establishment bugging all of us for our money. While, I really doubt that too many people have a problem dropping a nickel in a cup for the Sisters of Perpetual Poverty or the local Home for Hopeless Lives, the constant barrage from every self-proclaimed voice of God to send another hundred bucks to help spread the Gospel of the Pie-In-The-Sky is really annoying.

The local news here did a piece on the Lasermonks. I just found it interesting that monks would go into a "Office Depot" like business. If anything, it's a creative way to bring in money.

Creative way to spread a message about prayer too.

Well, as long as they don't force their views on anybody, or try to convert people, than it's cool. For me, the prayer stuff would go in one ear and out the other.
