Hello,

My first message here. I was wondering if if any you guys could help me out with my problem with my computer. The problem i'm having is that ever so often when I boot my pc it doesn't reconize my keyboard. I have to unplug it then replug it, for my pc to boot. This is my first homebuilt pc I made a couple months ago. It's a Athlon 2500+ barton, 512ram, nvidia 5200 128 videocard and it's using a ASus A7N8X motherboard. I do have in bios to start my pc using my keyboard I don't if that be part of the problem.

My second question is that I want to make a whitebox but i'm not sure which tv capture card to get . I want to get the Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe or the Aermedia AVerTV Studio. Which one is best . And is there a better card for around $70. Any help help is appreciated.

Thanks :D

I'll be honest with you ...

It sounds like you blew something on the motherboard that controls the keyboard.

Easy test: put a different keyboard on it. If you get the same results, then probably plugging and unplugging the keyboard with the computer on (that's never been safe, BTW, despite what you might read - POWER goes through there) popped something on the motherboard. Not what one wants to hear, I know... but it does happen. Heh, I blew up my dad's computer by doing that.

Re: capture card. Go with the Aver card. I've used most of them, they've all been reliable and good quality.

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for the advice Shane. I 'll give that a try hope it's just the keyboard.
