The NBA rejects EA's exclusive contract. The article points out that the chances of EA getting an exclusive contract with MLB is not very good as well. The reasons stated are that its not a good deal for the NBA so for you people who think that it is because the NBA is morally superior in some way, that isn't the case. Its just business.

Its interesting to note that that is also official confirmation that EA was going after exclusive contracts in every area that their sports games cover.

It's a good thing I don't play sports games. Looks like some dark days ahead.

The NBA is probably trying to hammer-out a deal with Midway right now, so that we can all look forward to a new generation of NBA Jam games - Boomshakalaka! ;)

Hahaha! If these sports game freaks are willing to pay crazy high prices to see actual games in real life, I'm sure they won't have a problem paying whatever EA will charge for it's video games.
