to read what I want to say ;-)

(Oh, in advance,

Thanks!

This is what you're looking for...

If you have our archive CD/DVDs, I cover it in one of the shows.

Hey, how ya doin? ;)
What a pleasure it is to actually communicate with the man himself!

I grew up with videogames & I`ve forseen 16 bit graphics while playing Atari as a kid, I`m a SERIOUS retrogamer & computer gamer & I wish I was a develloper already so I could be on your show :) I love you`re show! (Sorry if you feel like a mobbed celebrity, but I cannot restrain myself). LOL

Okay, now let`s get serious...

I had the amiga segments where you speak about the Amiga hardware & how it relates to emulation, & I was blown away by your great game & software review! ... However I have lost my collection of downoaded RGR shows due to my external HD going down. (Hopefully not forever, as I have only backed up apprx. 94 % of important data prior to the HD failure).

So, given that I cannot recollect any information regarding transfering .adf files from a modern computer (PC or Mac) onto disks so I can insert them into the built-in drive of my Amiga 500, I would have to ask you to please explain the procedure to me & I promise to post a pic of my Amiga in action. (If you don`t mind) ... Can I use Amiga Explorer with my old Amiga 500? That`s 500, not 5000... I want to make a disk for the Amiga; what the heck does theis null modem serial connector have to do with making a disk? If I can run the .adf file on my Amiga anywaysw, I`m happy, but I`d still like to make disks.

Thanks a lot man, REALLY nice talkin with ya, keep up the good work, (I HOPE THE SHOW NEVER DIES)! Merry X-mas, & keep it retro ;)

PS: Would you like me to make a new intro for the show? The one you have now is good, but... Everytime I hear it, it... It DOES seem kinda familliar... It`s good, but I would like to make a great one, but I would have to ask you or Brian I guess, to send me a compressed archive of the samples used in the mix.

Thanks,
... Chip

Amiga Forever basically lets you take the ADF files on the PC, it downloads them to the Amiga, and writes them to a real Amiga disk. Its BRAIN DEAD easy. They have good documentation and good support at Cloanto.

There is no way to write an Amiga disk on a PC (not without a special drive and a special drive hardware interface - search Google for "catweasel amiga" and you'll find it).

Good luck! :)

Great! Thanks man... But why is the cable needed? The amiga disk is written inside the AMiga?

Alright .. follow me here ...

You have ADF files sitting on a PC. The PC is sitting next to the Amiga which needs the file to write to the Amiga disk drive.

How do you intend on moving the ADF file from the PC to the Amiga? Osmosis? Magic? No, you use the cable to transfer the file over :) Once its on the Amiga, its just like DMS; it writes the disk image back to a real floppy disk.

Maybe I am not understanding what you need.

I`ll have to wait until I get a job for the DVDs...
