evening,
anyone know much about isolating transformers and willing to type some?
i have read bit on these before, something about removing them as they prevent mains voltage being present on the chassis of the monitor (ouch).

this transformer is now no longer feeding the game PCB, as the associated rectifier board is dead.
(been replaced them with a regular arcade type psu)
i would leave this lump just powering the 110 volt monitor (i'm in the UK 240volt land), but it has the symptom of making the screen image 'wobble' slightly. i understand this is due to the magnetic field being produced by the transformer. it is not possible to move it far enough away!
faraday cage? shielding? probably not worth the effort, or totally wrong idea?!
any suggestion on what i could use as a replacement, without putting the table or myself in mortal danger? any suggested suppliers?
i've tried typing 'isolation transformers' and similar into yahoo,
but never seem to get what i believe i'm looking for.
any pointers would be most appreciated, thanks in advance for your assistance.
cheers,
GaRy:)
