No, it's not what you think! Here is something from Gamespot News:
**********
What we heard: The past two weeks, Xbox rumors dominated the forums, the most juicy of which said that there will be not one, not two, but three versions of Microsoft's new console: The hard drive-less Xbox Next, the Xbox Next HD, which will come with a hard drive, and the Xbox Next PC, which will be both an Xbox and an entry-level PC. And there's some substantiation to this scenario, since supposedly customer testing of an "Xbox Next PC" occurred earlier this year.
Bogus or not bogus?: Here's hoping this rumor is not bogus.
**********
I guess Microsoft really wants to go guns out with, if it's true, the Xbox Next and offering 3 different models.
I don't know about the Xbox Next PC. Though it could give those Alienware and other made-for-gaming PCs a run for the money.

Well, where would you like me to start?
Let's start with the NARRATOR device. Yes Amiga had text to speech (yes application wide) back in early 1990s. Microsoft even stole the NAME "Narrator".
Let's also look at the sharing of RAM between video and system functions. While that's not TECHNICALLY **ALL** Microsoft, this was lifted from the Amiga's architecture from the beginning.
I could go on ... Microsoft has done pretty much nothing but steal or buy their technology. Bryan posted a nice list here somewhere on the forum - and I guarentee you there are many things on that list the MS is soley given credit for.

Well I was specifically talking about this post. I know there are technologies that originated on the amiga that are being used on other systems. However, I just wanted to know what about Microsoft making 3 versions of the Xbox is stealing. I know that Amiga made a console based on one of its computers (AKAIK it was only console, not PC/Console) but that is nothing new cuz Atari did the exact same thing with the 5200. I dont know much about the Amiga because I have never used it. A little more information would've been helpful.
I believe that making an entry level PC that doubles as a console is a great idea. The problem with entry-level PC's is the fact that they have poor gaming capabilites.

The thing with Atari was interesting. Taking a 400/800 computer and turning it into the 5200 console. And of course later on offering the Atari XEGS console, based on the XL/XE line of computers, that could be turned back into a computer. I did like the "Miami Vice" colors of the XEGS though.
