Calling all emulator and game lovers.. A new highscore site is here and ready for some punishment.

Its a different approach from the more serious sites - all you need to do is post a screenshot of your score in this forum-based site. Hold your own competitions there, long or short and for just about any game EVER!!

We have a trophy system so that the people who post alot of scores can really show off.. plus there will be monthly competitions to get your teeth into.

I should state that this site will be more fun for average and beginner players than it will be for the pro record breakers. This is not a world record keeping site or anything that serious - its for keeping your personal scores and having fun challenging mates' scores. So come and take a look and before you know it you'll be getting into those classic games like you never have before!!!

My only problem here is that there is already a well-financed, well-designed world record website (www.twingalaxies.com) that is industry recognized and has a great deal of time invested in it.

I'm curious the reason for another site that doesn't offer that sort of value add.

This is not a record keeping site. It is a more relaxed, more accessible site for friends to meet and challenge each other - not the world - at any game they like.

I think after spending a small amount of time at our site you'll see how its totally different in its approach. For instance, you could easily submit 30 scores in an hour and they would all instantly be visible on the site, you dont have to wait for any webmasters to "verify" it and you dont have to go to the lengths of recording your game.

I think although this leaves us with less security, some people would like to have an online scoreboard which is quick and easy to use, and frankly this is the best way to do that. As I said, follow my other link for more discussion about what happens if we encounter cheaters.

Basically, to answer your question this site is completely different to twingalaxies, in style, in approach, and also in content - as the scores being submitted are mostly by people who've discovered mame and other emulators and are playing most of the retro games for the first time. Record breakers will not find a challenge here, so they can stick to twingalaxies. Also there is some fun banter between challengers as they daily beat each others scores, so the pace can be as fast as the challenges taking place.
