Poor TWiTcast... must wait until I'm done with DSR :)

By the way.... just to let you know.
I just submitted "DSR" as an acronym at the http://www.acronymfinder.com/ website.
Let's see if it makes the list. :)

Great show! The only correction I wanted to make is that the show is being 'Podcasted' not 'Mediacasted'. :)

I might as well chime in. I'm listening right now and I have to say that I am so happy you guys (well, Womp) FINALLY reviewed Super Princess Peach. I'm going to play it on my SC when I get my DS again (and flash the firmware ;) ;) nudge nudge). Womp noticed the reviewers not playing past the 2nd level because the difficulty ramps up. Cool! I'll give my thoughts when I finish it (it may probably be NEVER  )

Uhm, what happened to Touch and Go?
The show mysteriously cut out after the Tetris DS review...:(

It just crapped out right during Touch & Go, it was right at the beginning of T&G...

I've just finished listening to the show and no probs here.
Using good old Winamp.
I agree with Chris's review of Super Princess Peach. After the first couple of levels it starts to get a bit more challenging. I'm currently battling my way through the wavy beach section of the game.
I'm a slut (using Shane's parlance) for platformers and this game fills the hole till Mario arrives this summer.
It’s a great 2D platformer and I'd recommend it to anyone.
On a side note I've been digging out some of my old GBA carts and giving them a run through again. It's amazing what a decent screen and battery life can do to aid playability. Wario Land 4 (http://uk.gameboy.ign.com/articles/165/165422p1.html) looks and plays just as good as Super Princess Peach. Give it a blast if you are into classic platformer action.
Anyhow enjoyed the show, Keep up the good work.

I just listened to the show, and I'm wondering, who is Shigeru Iwata?
I know Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata; is he some combination of them? :)

While on the subject; I also noticed that during the editorial comentary (when you guys segued on the Tetris strategies) you said "Tetrises" instead of "Tetri" (the official plural).

Really good show guys. I agreed with pretty much everything u said. kinda scary. I was hoping for a metroid review but oh well.
Shane had some really good tips for tetris. And Chris's review of Peach was right on the money. I was kinda surprised how lengthy the tetris review was. I mean its TETRIS! How much more can you say about it.
Btw, thanks for the shout out at the end Chris.
And like Spike said earlier, Wario land 4 for the GBA is a highly polished platformer. Easily better than peach.

Wow! What a Tetris review! That covers it all I'm sure...I immediately went online afterwards to play some Tetris, and man, did I get my ass kicked. I got a little frustrated, cause I've practiced my butt off the last couple of weeks, but some guys are just winning with such ease, no matter what strategy I try.
That's when I thought it's a real shame you can't go and chat a bit afterwards, you know, just so you can let off a bit of steam. Sometimes I really feel the need to ask how they did it, or just congratulate somebody with his/her victory...in a scribble/pictochat way. I really miss that.
Anyway, nice show. Strange how the sound changed during the Princess-review, I suppose you pasted it in afterwards, it seemed Chris did it on his own. I do think you're way cool for taking this kind of game seriously, especially in these times of coool PSP games...
I'm glad everyone liked the Peach review...It was done under different circumstances than we are used to doing things though as you could probably tell.
D'oh, i KNEW something was up about the Shigeru Iwata and yet I didn't SAY anything...

It was stupid because I KNEW what the man's damn name was but in our show notes (And I won't point fingers :D ) there was a "Shigeru" typo and sometimes I guess you are just concentrating on too many things at once that you read it without even processing its wrong. I think it just got mixed up due to our Zelda DS news...

Great show (again).
Thanks for the mention of the mirrors btw. Cool.
The show has inspired me to go back and finish Peach which I never did, I got sidetracked again.
Wario4 was a good game on GBA but had to be because 3 was so damn short, about 16 levels if I remember right. Coming after 2 on the Gameboy Colour which had about 48.
Looking forward to the "Lite" show. (D'you see what I did there?) ;)

Trust us, its anything BUT "Lite", its pretty damn PACKED with info considering its focusing on one subject. I also think its one of the best shows yet! I'm really excited. If you STILL don't know if you want a DSLite yet, you will probably figure it out once you hear this.

No, I didn't think that deep about it. :o
You can make the show as long as you like for my money, I got an hour commute each way. A show lasts me a day. :)
RGR lasts a couple of days.

Listened to about 3/4ths of the show last night, and really enjoyed this one. Even though I'm not actively playing my DS right now, I plan to get back into it later this year or next year, so it's nice to keep up-to-date about the scene.

Guys; to answer your question on this show, whether Bejeweled was also a rip-off of another game.
Poor Danny from the forums has been trying to tell you this for quite some time.
Isn't (http://monroeworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12000&postcount=1) that (http://monroeworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12118&postcount=10) right (http://www.shanesdomain.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12512&postcount=7) Danny? :)

Yoshi's Cookie...Yummy!

Sorry, couldn't resist. I do, however, think that Yoshi's Cookie was ripped off in some form or fashion by Popcap Games (not known for originality) for the game Bejeweled. The matching as many objects as possible, the trying to clear the board, that kind of thing.
I guess I've played YC enough to know when it was ripped off.

They'd all buy a DS & some decent games ! Or maybe not...
Its funny because I normally expect crappy games in the US top ten but sometimes the UK top 10 is either just as bad or worse! I always figured the UK would be more "Distinguished" than us in the States but I guess I was wrong. :p

Hehe.:D I very rarely visit my local shops nowadays, as I mainly import from the US, but when I do step inside the pits of doom, it's pretty soul destroying. I always feel the urge to go up to people & offer some advice, but I'd probably end up getting a smack in the chops.

I came here to post exactly the same thing! Appreciate it. Wario Ware Twisted has been delayed AGAIN, it doesn't even have a release date.
One thing that's been on my mind each time I listen to a segment of ep 5 was the ghost piece (GP) in Tetris DS. I appreciate what you both said about this, but for me, using the GP is a disadvantage because it does not take into account other blocks that get in the way - I don't see it as being that faster. I've taken this online and have not found it to be a problem.
However, I do disagree about hard drop - there should be no excuse for not using this - otherwise the games would not be half as frantic, I laugh out loud when playing this game. So for me it's ghost piece off, hard drop on!

I performed an excellent save in Gamestation a few weeks ago - this guy was buying games for his kid and nearly bought Marvel Rise of the imperfects. It was obvious he didn't know what to look for so I helped him out - he ended up getting Mario Kart and Sonic Rush.
edit: I just watched the Top Spin 2 vid - WTF!

I don't want to see Metroid Prime be the only decent FPS on the DS (Goldeneye DOESN'T COUNT).
What would be better than Counterstrike DS?
