I was looking through Ebay and found Pacman World 3 for the DS. I never heard about this coming out (not a big surprise). I throughly enjoyed Pacman World (1) on the PS1, but haven't picked up 2 or 3.

Does anyone have this? Has anyone played it?

Comments?

We own it .. I played through the first level.

Its NOWHERE near as polished as PacWorld 1 on PS1. The fundamentals of the game are all there. Ocassionally, you'll find some problems with the camera (big surprise).

If you go into it with open eyes, you won't be as surprised when its NOT PW1.

However, as portable gaming goes - its decent. Get a good price on it. Try it if possible.

Check these videos ... its well representative.

As the resident Namco whore I didn't like it at all...

1. Pac-Man has a voice, a really BAD voice....

2. The enemies suck and are not very "Pac-Manish"

3. The camera is the worst offender...It sucks...

4. It was done by Americans and not a Japanese team, hell, it wasn't even done by NAMCO!

BZZZT you fail.

I loved Pac-Man World PS1 and thought Ms Pac-Man Maze Madness was even better but this sucks, flat out, wait for a discount at the least. It lacks soul and screams of a design team that says "Oh man, WTF? Pac-Man World 3? We gotta work on THIS CRAP!? This is gay, I want to do GTA 6"

I have Pac-Man World 3 on the Xbox, and I *did* enjoy it for what it is. Actually played through the whole game. Not a masterpiece by any means, but I'm always a sucker for a Pac-Man game. The camera really does suck though, you are right. It is not a polished effort. The DS videos look similar to the game I played on the Xbox, so I am assuming the two gripes I had hold true for the DS:

1. Collecting: As with PMW1 and 2, each level has fruit and special items to pick up. In those prior games, once you completed the level you could see how many items you collected on the level select screens -- so if you wanted to get 100%, you could easily see what you missed and retry. In PMW3, you can only see the item counts while playing the level. After the level is done, the totals do not appear anywhere (at least from what I can see). What makes it worse is that sometimes the levels end so abruptly, that you don't have a chance to go back and find the remaining items before moving to the next level. If you reply the level, you start from scratch. Bad bad bad!

2. They refer to the red ghost as Clyde. Isn't he supposed to be Blinky?

Yep, Clyde is the orange ghost...

I love Pac-Man, I just wish Namco would stop whoring him out as much as they have been lately. Its like having a ****efest company like Titus (R.I.P forever) do Doom 4 or something to that respect.

I played the demo of Pac-Man World 3 on the XBox and yes, basically the same gripes...Ultimately the camera does the game in IMO and the fact that the game lacks charm. The original Pac-Man World is still the best if you ask me.
