I tell you what ... I'm so jazzed about forthcoming DS stuff ...
Top Gun (media here (http://media.ds.ign.com/media/757/757780/imgs_1.html)) - Does this look like Afterburner meets F-15 Strike Eagle II or WHAT???
Age of Empires (new interview (http://ds.ign.com/articles/679/679458p1.html)) - I wasn't excited when I heard this went turn based ... but its growning on me.
Metroid Prime Hunters - I'm no FPS fan .. but I do love WFC and maybe .. just maybe, I can get into this...
Super Monkey Ball - Man ... I took a look at the Jap import. WOW ... I ... can't ...wait ...
Touch Golf - Played the euro import. Gotta have it. Better than Tiger - and I really like Tiger.
Ultimate Games - Brain games and Card games. Playing portable spades online just gives me goosebumps.
Feel the Magic II - I loved the first one ... this one will rock.
Resident Evil DS - I've seen the movie at the site. I've read the Nintendo Power preview. I want it ... I want it NOW.
Brain Games - I played the E3 demo as best I could with Japanese menus. There is a reason its one of the best sellers of ANY game on ANY console in Japan.
Super Princess Peach - Played the Japanese import ... Its Mario World with emotions ... I like it.
New Super Mario Bros - Scream remake and name whoring ... I still want it. I want a Giant Mario kicking all over Goomba ass.
Electroplankton - Not a game? Maybe ... But it looks cool.

Top Gun It is indeed looking good, but I have a feeling this could be another King Kong/Burnout DS situation where early promise is shown then withers away when the game is released. I hope I'm proved wrong though.
Animal crossing: wild world Should be out in the UK soon. The gamecube version has kept me interested for months even if its just playing for a few minutes from what I understand this game is similar but with the added bonus of Wifi that in my book is a winner.
Resident evil DS I get the impression that this game is in really safe hands and the more I see of it the greater my interest, could be huge.
Age of empires I adored the PC original so when I heard the game was coming to the DS I was understandably excited. Unfortunate that its turn based but I'll give it a chance I just hope it dosn't go the way of Prince of Persia battles and Shogun.
Metroid PrimeDespite the fact that the genre's been done to death over the years I still think there's potential for it on portable formats. The demo impressed me and the wifi features excite me definitely up there.
Super monkey ballI still think the original is one of the top 5 gamecube games so it will be interesting to see how well it translates to the new controls. Judging on how good pac n roll was I have high hopes.
Mario and Luigi: Partners in time Should be released in the Uk soon, I've owned the GBA original for a while now and to be honest it took a while to get into it and even then it didn't blow me away. I'm looking foward to giving this one a chance though.
Jump Superstars and Osu Tatakae Oeundan I know I'm going to break and import these, they've been in top 10 of the lik sang import charts for ages, I've only heard high praise for both of them and they look too good to pass on. The liklyhood of a western release is slim to none so I'm looking foward to getting these. Super Princess Peach might get a look in aswell.
As for electroplankton gamespot has finaly done a review http://www.gamespot.com/ds/puzzle/electroplankton/review.html which I think is one of the first western reviews of the game (apart from mine :p )
one of the negative points they mentioned
Total lack of game structure Oh christ
I've owned it for a while now and it still feels as fresh and entertaining as it did on day one. It will be interesting to see if the Internet only strategy works.

Jump Superstars is good, kinda like smash bros but with anime characters and touch screen selectable team mates/mate assits/power ups etc during battle. Lots of stuff to unlock as well...

Shane said he was no FPS fan, and for the most part I agree. But I don't consider the Metroid series to be FPS. It's FPA, first person adventure. It's the only series of first person games that gets it right. In every other FPS on the planet, what's the main game play emphasis? Aiming! Either you're aiming on a different planet or you're aiming in World War II or you're aiming in the jungle. This is why I think that every FPS offers the same experience over and over again. If you've played Halo then you've played Quake or Call of Duty. It's all about how well you can aim your cross hairs. But not so with Metroid. Metroid is about exploration, discovery and greed. For one thing, it auto-targets, thereby completely eliminating the aiming element from the game. And the way it keeps you fed full of power-ups and new abilities is great. The controls are smooth and intuitive, and even though the game world is huge, you're never left wondering what the hell to do next. And while Hunters doesn't auto-target, you get to use the stylus, so aiming is really a non-issue here as well. Metroid, to me, is just a whole different gaming experience than every other FPS out there.
Having said that, here are the titles I'm looking forward to...
Metroid Prime - Of course.
Age of Empires - I bought Advance Wars: Dual Strike because everyone talked about what a great game it was, and it is fun to play, but I just can't stand all the, "Hey, let's be dudes together and rock out harder than ever," or "you're going down, Purple Sasquatch, because I'm so cool and hip and the supreme chilled-out fandango to the max!" I hate that crap. In Age of Empires, the worst I can expect is, "Mayhap we persist in our endeavor to be dudes concomitant to one another whilst we rocketh, rocketh to an extreme so exalted that it does not even abide the telling."
Electroplankton - It just looks like a zen bliss-out.
Super Mario Bros. - Is this a completely new title? If so, I'm all about it. I still need to buy the N64 remake.
Whatever Else Shane Tells Me To Buy - Favorable reviews from Shane end up costing me 30 to 35 dollars a piece.

Top Gun - looks quite interesting though I was never a fan of Afterburner I loved F-15 Strike Eagle II.
Age of Empires - won't be for me.
Metroid Prime Hunters - Yeah why not.
Super Monkey Ball - looks good could be in danger of being limited and repetitive.
Touch Golf - It rocks! It's gonna be a time warp game (where did those 4 hours go?)
Ultimate Games - I like them when I play them but if I have something else with me.....
Feel the Magic II - Really should try the first one.
Resident Evil DS - Oh man this is gonna be the pant wetter for me. Bring on Silent Hill as well.
Brain Games - They may be one of the best sellers of ANY game on ANY console in Japan but so was Pokemon.
Super Princess Peach - Really like the franchise I once had no time for so yeah.
New Super Mario Bros - See previous.
Electroplankton - ........leaves to google it............

Well, I've never played most of the originals to these games (sans Resident Evil, which I thought was pretty lame), so I'll take 'em as they come :) I am looking forward to playing Metroid Prime and Super Monkey Ball for the first time, and have been waiting for the Ultimate Brain Games package for awhile now.
While we're on the subject, things I *would* be excited about if they would release, include:
- A new portable Punchout game. Hell, even if it was a straight up port of the SNES version, that would be spiffy. Of course, I've played the 8-bit NES version so much that I can almost beat it blindfoldered (I'm not joking either!), so I don't care much about that one. I wonder if they could do anything interesting with the touch screeen ... hmmm :)
- Tetrisphere: One of the few N64 games I actually liked.
- Star Wars Racer: One of the other few N64 games I actually liked :) Though I spent most of my time with the PC version.
- Lumines: I guess it just wouldn't work out on the DS though - no widescreen :(
- Killer Instinct: They could probably pull it off too! Dunno if hte button configuration would work though.
- A portable Destruction Derby-type game wouldn't be bad either

I'm excited about the Silent Hill movie!
Oh wait, you mean for DS stuff sorry...
I'd like to see a Super Smash Bros for ds... yes I know about Jump stars but gosh I want something in English!
Worknman's wishlist would rock also..
But other than sequals I'd sure like to see something more original...
I'd love to see a first person adventure game - like Tex Murphy series - for the DS... Trace Memory sounded good but is way too short...
A shooter like Rez would be cool also..
Touch Golf kicks mucho ass, I love it...And I agree with Shane, its better than Tiger.
Elecktroplankton....NO SAVE FUNCTION...You mean I can't save a tune I made and show it off to my friends later? I mean cripes its a game card, it doesn't even need a battery for backup, REDICULOUS! -1 sale from me. Sorry, I'll pass :(
Super Princess Peach is great but I am waiting for the US release. 2D art is alive and going!
I have to recommend that Ouendan! game, its fantastic fun, funny as hell and requires 0 Japanese understanding, besides the translation guide is easily available on gamefaqs.com. Nice import. I showed it to my brother the other night and now he is hooked.
The updated video I saw of Metroid Hunters looks awesome as well, they've realllly improved upon this game since that demo from over a year ago. I wasn't impressed at all then, but I am now. Can't wait!
Brain Training looks like its going to be a blast....A million Japanese DS players can't be that wrong RIGHT?
I've honestly never been a big Super Monkey Ball fan...No idea why, I just cannot get into it. HOWEVER, I LOVE the mini games.

I'm all over the New Super Mario Brothers. I need to do a bit of research though.
I've NEVER finished Super Mario 64 (for the N64) and so if this is similar, I'm in. And since I didn't finish it, I will be getting that for SURE this week.

Age of Empires It is disappointing to find out that it went turn based, but if it is anything like Heroes of Might and Magic then its a must buy. Fortunatley I can still have some real-time portable AOE on my pocketpc. Hopefully it has some WFC modes.

Whoa! Holy sh*t, now they need to make a proper Star Wars flight sim for the DS and I'll be happy (and no, not the multiplayer game from Episode 3).

I dunno. The Metroid Prime Hunters demo scared the absolute living crap out of me. AOE2 is not going to be on my purchase list, sorry.

OK, I can live with online spades (just as long as Pirillo doesn't get a DS, don't want his fiancee talking smack)
Feel the Magic II - I loved the first one ... this one will rock.

OK, SPP and NSMB will be KILLER! Especially SPP. I want to know how they implemented those AWESOME emotion commands!
The other thing i'd like to see (besides a proper Star Wars flight sim--see above) is an online-enabled turn-based/real-time Star Trek strategy game ala Bridge Commander (may not happen, but who knows?)

I am really looking forward to Tetris DS, but True Swing Golf will be my next purchase. It comes out next week too. I've always thought golf games translated pretty well to the handheld, and this should be one of the best:
From joystik.com:
"It appears that True Swing Golf might be shaping up nicely on the DS. There are currently two reviews reported on Game Rankings; one gives the game an 8/10, and the other gives it a 9/10 for a current compiled ration of 85%. Next-gen writes: "[True Swing Golf] is a golf game using the stylus as a club. The most notable feature is the integration of Pictochat into the main game – something I've been perplexed not to see in earlier multiplayer games."
The title will be released by Nintendo on January 23."

Total lack of game structureJust to clarify, it's an interactive toy, not a game. And that's fine. Everything I've read about it sounds great, I can't wait to try it.

You won't be disappointed along as you know roughly what to expect.
It would be even better if it had a record/save option.

I tell you what .. the game becomes something different when you hook it up to some big ass speakers and/or your PC. I finally found my patch cable for LINE IN, and recorded a little jam session with various plankton.

That's what I was thinking there when I heard you say "You are now listening to retro gaming radio"
The first tune actually sounded like the labrynth tune from Kid Icarus (sp) for NES while a later tune is obviously the starman invincibility tune from Super Mario Bros.
That's neat, it has a lot of effects doesn't it? Maybe I should check it out.
Is this a product by Nintendo?
