I've been thinking that soon I might want to consider getting a new DVD player, but I was wondering if some of these features were available:
Dynamic Volume Control: I live in an apartment, which means I have to keep the volume down late at night. It's awkward when I'm watching a DVD that has conversation at a normal volume, then it cuts to a rave dance scene that's 10 times as loud as the conversation. Is there some sort of dynamic volume control option that attempts to keep the volume at a medium level throughout the whole movie?
Immediate Menu Jumping: This goes without saying, I'd like to be able for it to jump to the main menu at any point at the DVD's playback, even during parts that are labeled unskippable.
Built-in surround sound check: I hate having to find a THX DVD so I can run the THX optimizer to test if my surround sound is working properly.
