Does anyone have these?

I got myself the Apollo 11 set - 10 hours over 3 discs...

Highlights include:-
Multi-angle coverage of launch.(4 static views + 1 composite view; 4 panning views + composite view).

Multi-soundtracks with lunar landing (inc. on-board,flight controller loop, PR loop etc. - with a 5.1 composite track!) Separate soundtrack with astronauts debriefing interview...

Multi-angle for Armstrong's ladder descent (internal/external cameras + composite which include stills)

Unedited EVA activity with on-board camera (1fps) and/or tv transmission overlayed with/without stills.

Real anal completist stuff here! - see the rocket assembly, prelaunch babble, see the TV transmission tests in flight, interviews, recovery of command module at end of mission... it goes on and on. This represents a great use of DVD technology.

Anyone who is into the old space missions will enjoy this.

Considering getting the Apollo 15 (lunar rover et al) set - 5 discs

Interesting, I didn't release anything like this was available. Thanks for sharing. I don't suppose you've been watching the BBC docu-drama about the space race? Damn when the BBC wants to put out quality they certainly do.

I picked-up the Apollo 11 set a while back - definitely great to watch. I've been wanting to watch it again ever since NASA released images of the hardware that might be used to get back to the moon. Any of this stuff look familiar?

Is Space Race the name of the BBC series? Looks like BBC America isn't showing it over here.

Space Race is a great series (from what I've managed to catch).

I find the whole Apollo project endlessly fascinating - the level of complexity involved, especially given the technology of the day, is astounding.

The concluding episode of Space Race was on last night and it was superb, The whole series has been wonderfully put together and acted.

And it's available on DVD from the 7th of November BBC shop (http://www.bbcshop.com/invt/ebbcdvd1749) and Play.com (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?source=480&page=title&Cur=257&r=R2&title=718804) that goes on the christmas list then.

here's some (not much though) information on the series Imdb (http://imdb.com/title/tt0461887/).

It's another example of a BBC collaboration with other networks. Band of brothers, The Cell and now space race. Well done.

PS. Whilst your on the BBC shop look out for Brunel by Jeremy Clarkson and The victoria cross by Jeremy Clarkson both are increadible.

Slightly off topic but I was watching Horizen last night on BBC 2 about commercial space flight and the X prize and who should appear but John Carmack talking about his VTOL rocket design as well as the X prize and space flight in general. He's put 2 million dollars of his own money into the project.

I didn't realise that SpaceShipOne had actually got into space abd landed safely well done to Burt Rutan.

John Carmack talking about his VTOL rocket design

This guy alongside coding cutting-edge FPS graphics engines, has spare time to do work in rocket science? Yikes he must be busy.
