"Karma"? I don't call it Karma but I do believe in it. It's a foundational Christian principal called sowing and reaping. You will reap what you sow. Every seed produces after it's kind. So whatever you want in your life, that you must sow. But "Karma" works for me too.

Not a lawyer, but as I understand it, unless your driving a motor vehicle the officer can't stop you and require your ID. But obviously, try telling that to the guy with the gun demanding it and threatening to arrest you on whatever charge he can imagine.

"Papers Please!" Welcome to the new world order folks!

Like your wife, I work in a germ factory with kids and I do have to have physical contact with them. But you seem to get sick a whole lot more. If you ever heard Penn Gillette's radio show when it was on the air, he once brought up that subject. What he does, since he touches a lot of people and can get sick from them is he doesn't touch his face with his hands till after he's washed them. Most of the time you can avoid getting sick if you follow that simple advice. Cause you get the germs when you say shake someone's hand and when you touch your face (eyes, nose, mouth) they enter you and you wind up getting sick. So keep a little bottle of hand sanitizer around and don't touch your face. :)

Yeah, I know .. we've been watching Sparticus (didn't I mention it?) ... good stuff right there ... THAT is my RomanWorld!

The sick thing ...

It's all well and good to say "Wash your hands, don't touch your face", but in my situation ... completely impractical. Let me explain.

First off, I have THREE sources of infection here. My wife is at one district high school. My daughter is at a DIFFERENT district high school, 20 miles away. They ALWAYS have different strains of the Umbrella Corp. virus going around.

Second, I have a 3 year old in public daycare. Not some huge chain like Tutor Time where they have an army to watch the kids ... I'm at the K-Mart facility where some lower income families (who can't afford to miss work to stay home with sick kids) deposit their children (well or sick). At any time, my 3 year old probably has ebola AND the umbrella strain. Couple that with the three year old mentality and inexperience of "covering your mouth" when coughing and the concept that it isn't nice to sneeze directly into your parent's face ... well, you get the idea.

Sure, in the work environment ... you can get all germphobic ...have your little bottle of "Handitize" on your desk ... wash your hands 10 times a day ... but in the end, you come home and a booger covered toddler jumps and loves on you (don't forget the kisses, daddy) ... it's all pointless.

COULD I gain something by living in a plastic bubble? Possibly. But, I don't see it as practical at this time.

While we're on the topic, let's not mince words. I'm carrying some extra weight around. I don't exercise enough. I don't eat exactly healthy. My immune system is probably one step over an HIV infected person. When I drop 50 pounds and stop eating cheeseburgers (the Diet Coke stays, dammit) - I'm sure I'll get sick LESS. However, constant exposure to the Daycare Bubonic Plague isn't helping any.

Need to get some Vitamin C into the diet methinks. I substituted one glass of orange juice for whatever I was drinking @ breakfast, and I swear it makes a difference even when you are sick.

And Spartacus is awesome! If only we had a constitution like Theokoles!

Yeah I don't see that as Karma, I just see it as natural consequences that happen in life. It's an "If...then" thing. "If you skip school on the day they happen to take the yearbook pictures you wanted, then you don't get the yearbook pictures you wanted". If I spend my mortgage money on a professional digital camera that I want, I miss my mortgage payment and bad things are going to happen for me. I'm curious though Shane, given your belief in karma and the seemingly never-ending amount of bad things that have been happening to you in the last year, do you have any theory as to what brought such a horrible streak of events your way?

I was really laughing when you were going off on the kid with the music in the car. Hilarious!

As it was taught to me in driving school, a standard bicycle is considered a "vehicle" and must obey the same traffic laws as motor vehicles on the road (at least, that's how it was in the state of Maryland). The cop was being a jerk for sure, but they can pull over people on bikes just the same as they pull people over in cars. Alot of people who ride bikes don't think of themselves as being on vehicles or needing to stop at stop signs or anything like that. They only stop so as not to be hit by cars, but alot of them don't think the traffic laws apply to them.

Ok, so you got the walking germ factory making sure you get infected. :) It still seems excessive. Try a multivitamin and some extra C. All that fast food is sugar, salt, fat and no nutritional value. So either eat quality food or at least take some supplements.

And as for aspartame based diet stuff........aspartame is made from genetically modified E. Coli bacteria. They feed the E. Coli some toxic stuff (forget what) and it poops out aspartame. It can be made chemically (I think) but I assume that that's the cheapest way it can be made and unless you know for sure the source, it's probably the poop. :)

Keep it in mind as you suck down that diet coke with lime. :D Yummy!

Actually Shane... Steak with chocolate sauce as a dish does exist, and looking at the hundreds of hits I got in Google, I guess it's a popular one. Check it out: http://www.chocoliciouscooking.com/blogs/?p=1117

So I don't think that's a proper analogy to the Droid Camera. Besides, I don't think the camera ruins the other great features of the phone, I think it would be more like having a steak with a poor side, the steak is still awesome, but the poor side prevents it from being an otherwise superb meal.

Man, the part where you went off on the dude with the loud music, pure gold man. I always LOL at people swearing, especially when they swear intelligently.

Also, what happened to the Route 44 Diet Coke with Lime at Sonic? Are you recording after you get your fix?

I believe in Zen and Karma 100% being a dragon who knows about the paranormal I hear about it all the time.

Again don't worry Shane you will be rewarded for all the troubles which have been thrown against you this year and the one's who caused you harm will pay DEARLY!

Concerning sickness.. if you excersise one week and take probiotics your wife shouldn't get sick or you.. especially if you have good genetic DNA.

I hardly ever get sick and plenty of sex helps as well.

I have some good multis here .. I might start taking them again ... they tend to upset my stomach. but it might be worth it.

I've given this a lot of thought, honestly. Right now - I just don't know.

I might try changing over to Splenda based diet stuff for awhile ... see if it helps. I really do need some supplements.

Always there to help me out, Flare. Heh .. the 2.1 update APPEARS to help the camera focusing along. Time will tell.

I have been trying to cut down on the morning expenditures. It adds up. I now go with the 32oz $1 soda with lime. Doesn't make sense to spend $2.14 on a 44oz, when I can get a 32oz for $1.19.

Yeah, that asshole in the car really pissed me off.

I had to stop taking multi vitamins. Doctor said it could increase the size of my kidney stones. I pass one about 2 times a year and if you have never had one, trust me, you don't want them any bigger. I had to cut out sweet tea also as that is said to cause kidney stones (I still drink it now and again)

Speaking of Karma... It's Red Cross Blood Drive here at work today.

I'm a filthy scumbag throughout the whole year, using Usenet and all; so I always like to donate blood during these drives. Doing so will hopefully offset some of the bad I do and get some karma back. I'm gonna need it with all of the movie and game releases that are coming out this holiday season! LOL.

Also, I'm O negative which is rare so I know they're always happy to see me there.
