Does anyone have a recommendation for their favorite P2P software package.

Kazaa Lite when I'm downloading small files, eMule when I'm downloading big ones :) eMule is slow as all heck when downloading, but is very persistant at downloading 650MB ISOs and such.

Bit Torrent is the best thing to happen to P2P, if you can find the torrents you want. Unfortunately is is barely searchable and you are kinda stuck with either the site has it or not.
I also like Direct Connect a lot, however it is majorly dependant on how much you share because each hub has different rules on how much you need before you can join it, and all the good hubs (re: fast) require a lot of shared files before they will let you join. I am talking about 100 gigs +.

I do recomend only sharing legal files of course. You can easily fill 100 gb of home movies esp if you use a large lossless format.
I am not a fan of the Divx or XVID formats, but I do like high bitrate Mpeg 2
As for direct connect, I have seen more than a few individual people sharing a terabyte of files...each
