I was hoping someone could answer a question about the DVD Lab product.
My wife is giving me a DVD burner for Christmas. I doubt the package will come with a good authoring proggie, so I started looking around. I took Shane's recommendation and started looking at DVD Lab reviews and also on the DVD Lab web site. I see mention of a Pro version, but can't find out much about it. Is it out yet? Can anyone shed any light on the standard versus the Pro version?
TIA

If you have a question whether or not you need the pro edition, then you don't.
The Pro version basically allows for some more TECHNICAL possibilities... like direct editing of the disc structure as well as "mixing" VTS - which allows for 'mixing' of formats (such as 4:3 and widescreen anamorphic).
Honestly, I'm using pro now, but don't really need it at this time.
Standard is incredibly powerful and more than enough for the average user.

Hmm, I may need the pro version after all. I do a lot of weird video things now and when I get the old burner installed, I can forsee a lot of custom burns for family and such.
I still can't find a page or price for the pro version. Do you know the specifics?

OK, the history page helps, but I wonder why the info on Pro is so hidden. What am I missing here?
So, Pro is new and not released, right? You can't buy it now, but you will be able to soon I guess. No word on the price that I can find either.
As an aside, it looks like I missed out on a promo price, $79, on the standard product. Rats!

The Pro is BETA 1 and you cannot buy it - yet.
However, if you OWN Standard, you can use Pro for free through the whole beta period. I'm SURE that Standard owners will get GENEROUS discounts on the pro upgrade.
