Listened to your show... Just thought I'd comment on a couple of things.

1. Maybe it's a regional thing or something, but I don't think the Disney teeny boppers dress slutty. I see a whole lot worse walking into a mall, here in Miami. But like I said, this may just be a regional thing. The Disney Channel is on pretty much 24/7 in my house. And I've sat and watched most of this stuff with my kid. Although I agree it's not the best in terms of creativity. It's mostly sterile, and when compared to what's on Network television and even Cartoon Network, I'd say Disney has to be the safest in terms of inappropriate material for kids.

2. Gas pumps seem to be magnets for dumb asses. It's a simple process, but people seem to screw it up. Do you have any 'self-checkout' lanes at your local grocery store?

3. I agree with you 100% on the political correctness issue. Unfortunately, expect things to get worse over the next couple of years.

Good show, man. You popped the cherry on my Zune-first podcast played since I bought it! :)

I dunno man ... Maybe it's my hatred of what teens are allowed to get away with today. Parents letting them run around in thongs and hooker clothing. The Disney Channel just might be "on par" with the relaxed whore standards out there NOW - I know when I drop my daughters off at high school, they are amongst the most modest dressed.

Oh just you wait .. that's on my list for another show ...

It's getting to be ridiculous man.

Weird, I haven't seen any thongs or hooker clothing, must be the hookers in Miami dress more 'whorish' than the hookers in Glendale. :) I'm just glad the kids on the Disney Channel don't have metal objects hanging from every orifice.

By the way... before Miley Cyrus, Lazy Town's Steph becomes legal meat this year.

Hermione is already 100% legal.

Speaking of Disney messing with the rides, the worst one I remember was when they turned The ExtraTERRORestial Alien Encounter into Stitch's Great Escape.

I'll never forgive them for that; it is by far their stupidest idea ever. They turned a great and scary attraction into a lame and childish feature.

I'm so glad I got to experience the original.

"Under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in the 1950s to show we weren't like those godless commies over in Russia. It wasn't in there originally. If nothing else, it's a Cold War artifact.

Funny, I used to know that. I guess it slipped.

I'm not a huge GOD fan anyway, so they can put it right anytime. :)

Copied from MyBB.

When i was young Disney Channel wasn't the way you say it is to be
It was great back then

It had great cartoons like The Raccoons, Beatles Cartoons, Paddington Bear, Rupert, The Care Bears and they even aired the Disney cartoons

They had decent shows like Kids Incorporated, The New Mickey Mouse Club/MMC, Adventures in Wonderland, Welcome To Pooh Corner, Under The Umbrella Tree, Fraggle Rock, Dumbo's Circus, The Mouse Factory and others

They even had movies and Specials not only from Disney but from 3rd parties as well like: Animalympics, Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure, The Mis-Adventures of Merlin Jones, The Care Bears Movie, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus and many more

Nowadays it's just plain unwatchable

They still do... I drive by there every now and then and my daughter makes me slow down so she can see him wink.

But, as Shane will recall, they have never been able to keep his eyes working long... Kinda like the old clock on the ave that has really never been accurate... it works... but just very slowly... maybe there is a rip in the space/time continuum right where the clock is...

Back to Skookum... he's been like that for many many years... work, not work... I'm just glad that they kept him when they converted the shed into an Office Depot. Too many Wenatchee landmarks being tossed to the wayside in my opinion.

I can't remember what episode you said it (Typical Shanistic weakass mp3 tags m'kay... :p), but the comment "Thanks for throwing your life aways in Iraq, but..." was possibly the most ass-hole thing I've ever heard you say.

If it helps, it was the episode regarding the name change of a peak to something else, the indian eyes ceasing to move... and that you where fed up with politically correctness.

We are not so far apart my friend. ;)

All a matter of perspective my friend. I can grieve for a life lost in what I consider gone for a lost cause as much as you can celebrate in what the life stood for before it was taken.

Might be just me, but I'd rather pledge to a probable fictional being than and actual single person? (See how I was all PC'd out in using person instead of man? :p)

Anyway, damn commies! :)

Sounds like a poetic way of dismissing military members -acting upon thier convictions- deaths to me. You never said if the soldier in question was worthy, rather, the blanket statement you made suggested...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't with the anti-war people?

That said, from experiance, I'll tell you that there are MANY members of the Armed Forces who are in for reasons other than their convictions and who die for reasons other than bad luck or enemy skill. I'll also say that there are incredible acts of selflessness and courage performed daily that, imo, entitle them the dignity of being remembered - by a monument if need be, for their deeds. Not just as a 'warmonger' but as an inspiration of what one human will do for another in a time of crisis.

When I was younger, I went to a middle school that was named after a 'mere' crossing guard who sacrificed his life to save a child - he took what he wouldn't have that child take: Death.

I always found that schools name to be humbling - yes, even when I was a 'yoot' who attended it...

When they say solders are wasting their lives, what kind of life are they arguing in favor of? I'm sitting in my home, safe and sound, plenty of food, TV, internet, games, no responsibilities at all, yet my heart's pounding for no reason and I feel like my nerves are being deep fried. Is this the American Dream? Is this what soldiers throughout history fought and died to protect?

If that's what makes you happy, then I would imagine that yes, it is....
