I'm not one of those people who like that sort of tactic by software makers either (i.e. "Buy the full version and unlock XXX feature you want" where XXX stands for some feature that is gimped in the "evaluation" version).

Thank God I have friends in the Mac arena. Thanks to a friend of mine (whom I will mention in the blog post about software piracy), I now have a full license for WireTap Studio from Ambrosia Software, which I'm now using to REPLACE Audio Hijack Pro, because Rogue Amoeba wants $31 to unlock the one feature I now have with WTS: Recording anything longer than 10 minutes.

Rogue Amoeba can stick half their paid applications where the sun don't shine in my book. I now have all the features I want, and I'm now a legitimate owner of a piece of software.

I'll talk a bit more about this on my Mac blog at some point, because this issue is important to me also, even though I'm not a developer (yet).

Just started my vacation today and celebrated by listening to this episode of Cartalk while driving to Fry's lol.

I'm really excited for the future of this series--getting to listen to Shane several times a week on various topics is the next best thing to being able to listen to him on FM or satellite radio on my way to work each day hehe.

Great episode, you can really hear the enthusiasm in Shane's voice during the fat people rant. Looking forward to getting the series mediacasted to my Zune and listening to future episodes. :)

Actually, I think he's the guy that played Roland/Arthur Fuller in an early X-Files episode called, amazingly, "Roland".

Finally got around to listening to the show. I can definitely relate to the BS required work training aspect. Years ago I was sent to Diversity training. This class got us into groups and tried to get all touchy feely to make us "think out of the box" about people and their backgrounds. Talk about a total waste of time. Actually I was offended by some of the comments from the instructors.

Luckily this year I got to go to decent technical training which was in Austin Texas for a couple days which was a fun and informative little trip. This year was definitely an exception for me. Most of the time my training is like what you talked about on the show.

The Extended trial you mention I like to call "Extended Demo". It's funny that we all think the same way about this kind of stuff though.

That is correct. It was done to 'flip a finger' at EA's retarded DRM. A followup to the 1star review on Amazon on release day 'finger'.

Apparently the game sucked, so there is no way all those torrent downloads are being played. :rolleyes:
