Well?
What gives?
The tourney said it was due to start at 1am GMT so I was there and played with Reef but noone else was there.
We chatted in the chatroom while we raced for about half an hour before I had to hit the sack.
I guess everyone else must have started at 2am GMT?

I'm not sure what happened miner--the tourney started at 9pm est, 8pm cst as scheduled. Reef says we had just missed you when we started.
Have you adjusted your timezone on the Uplink page? It doesn't work off of your forums timezone, you have to set it up in Uplink for the tournament times to work properly.
Hope to catch you at the next one, man--was lots of fun!

I'll be making some sort of required Time Zone setting before a tourney is started.

Yeah I'll just set it to +1 on the uplink but leave it at GMT on the forums.

OK this is frickin' dumb.
Last week I showed up an hour early when I was set to GMT.
Now I'm set to GMT+1 and I'm early again. Nobody else showed up yet. Guess they'll be on in an hour.
Goodnight folks.

Further to my rant, this is from the mail the system sent me.
miner2049er,
You have joined a tournament for:
Mario Kart Wii on 2008-05-16 20:00:00
So is that 20:00 GMT, GMT+1, GMT-5?
Harumph!
If it's 20:00 US it's gotta be at least 1am GMT.
Grrrr

Hehe, not sure what's going on man--the it's 6:30pm CST right now, and the tourney starts at 8:00pm CST, in anout 1 hour, 30 minutes. :o

I am thinking Miner must not have his time zone settings set correctly in his wifi profile. I show the tourney as starting at 9PM Eastern US time (GMT-4) which is my timezone.

OK Alex, I see you created a tourney fro Friday night and it is showing up as 12:00am for me.
What time will you be playing in your time zone and what is the time adjusted for me in the UK?
Let's try and work this out.

Based on the time of last weeks tourney the time should have been 1AM for you if you are in the GMT time zone.

That's what I thought, but last week nobody showed until 2am.
Well, if I'm around at 1am I'll hop on and see who's there.
To add a little confusion though, we are currently on BST which is GMT+1.

Are you guys STILL having timezone issues?
Remember, the system COMPENSATES for day light savings time by itself. Don't try to compensate with it.

The tourney is set for 8pm CST, 9pm EST. London is a 6 hour difference from CST, so that puts the tourney at 2am your time.
I used this site to figure it out: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/

I also have a one hour difference. The uplink shows me 8pm for that tournament and it will be 9pm in reality. All tournament I've played had the same 1 hour difference. I'm definitely in GMT-05:00. I would have to use GMT-06:00 to have the correct time.

Just to add a little more confusion here, I just looked at the Uplink (16:41 for me) and it says that Shane is in the forums and was last seen today (22nd) at 09:37, and it has the same time for Flare too.
Are you 2 in the same time zone? I know Flare is 6 hours behind me because I asked him this week, so that should mean if the Uplink is showing his local time it should show 10:37 no?
Can this part be adjusted for local time too and if so can it show the correct time?
