Well recently I brought some Japanese Shareware from this site (http://shop.himeya.com/) and not all of my orders have come in yet but when they do I'll review them here, I think you'll like what games I selected.

Anyways as I said I've not gotten all of the games yet but a preview of one of them Air Rade (with add-on pack Air Rade Summer) have been partly reviewed in my Video Gaming Diary. (which also has the link to the game's demo)

I'll review both Air Rade and Air Rade Summer as well as dmp Drill Milky Punch when I get enough time.

If anyone else has brought any decent shareware (it don't have to be japanese lol) then talk about it on this thred :) (belive me when I say I'm intrested)

Yeah thats a very good game, I love shrumps (scrolling shooters) I could recomend a lot of freeware doujin soft shrump to you guys but I not sure if anyone would be intrested...

I guess the good thing about Jap Shareware compaired to the western varaity is that it's cheap, I mean if you actually order direct from the maker the software usaly only costs 1000 yen which if you consider how much it costs 200 yen for a cheese burger in Japan that's not all that much. Better yet 1000 yen translates in to 4 Dollars, if this was to go mainstrem I reackon shareware producers would be in trouble lol

One day I will make my own proberbly using Game Maker 6.0 when I can be arsed lol.

The technical term is actually "shmups (http://www.shmups.com)". ;)

(A word first coined by legendary UK Commodore mag ZZAP!64 in the 1980s, as a shortening of the traditional phrase "shoot-em-ups".)

Not that it makes a whole lot of difference, but I'm a nitpicker, what can I say. :)

1000 yen is a lot closer to 10 dollars. Japanese arcade games are usually 100 yen, which is about a dollar. Arcades are placed in the middle of packed shopping areas, and were still doing fairly good business last time I was there. Pachinko (gambling) parlors - doing VERY good business. Considering 1000 yen is the lowest paper bill in the country, and most everywhere deals mainly in cash, it makes it a lot easier to spend larger sums in Japan... FWIW.

So that's why, every year, dozens of folks mysteriously find themselves at http://www.shrimps.com looking for the latest japanese shooters

I want to go to Japan just to get the whole video gaming experiance from their point of view. Apearntly they don't have very many PC gaming shops which does not suprise me to much but if I was there I would be hunting them down acter I finished in there arcades lol.

I would also like to see much of there culture to I guess, I've always been facsanated (I know that's spelt wrong lol) by there culture although they do like there raw fish which is something I can't imagen myself "getting in to" if you catch my drift.

Drill Milky Punch

WOW! This game is pretty much like an endless verson of Robotron but instead of blasting the hordes enemies with a laser gun instead you have to punch enemies in to other enemies creating a "chain combo".

Very crazy game, it's 6 players and you can get 1000's of enemies on the screen at once... more screenies when I get them, no review though because I'm suffering from the flu atm :(

Oh yeah I just managed to complete Air Rade for the first time today... I feel so happy! :D lol

Seriously though this game has a lot of secrets and I've only unlocked "pratice mode" which allows me to play (or pratice on) any level I desire which is nice I guess. I've still yet to unlock any extra characters though so I guessing I get these after I unlock all the "modes" the game has to offer. (I know there is an "Endless Mode" and "Time Attack mode" that I've not unlocked yet.)
