The 1 disc edition is out of print, and no way am I going to spend $30+ for it as I have a feeling that a better edition might be down the road.
Many thanks folks. :)

Sweet, glad I held off. I'm finally getting off my fatass and buying the Kevin Smith collection. Just grabbed "Jay And Silent Bob" and "Chasing Amy" last night at work along with snapping a copy of "Dogma" SE off of eBay. :D
Already got "Clerks X" and "Clerks: The Animated Series." Most likely I won't bother with "Jersey Girl" unless I can be convinced otherwise its worth buying.

Er, Kevin basically died after J&SB ... Jersey Girl will never pass my threshold.

True on that. "Jersey Girl" looks like a watered down for the masses "Chasing Amy." I might give it a spin eventually, but I doubt it will do anything for me.
I'll eventually will give my own reviews on the key Kevin Smith films on the board if anyone is interested in my take on them. :)

Jersey Girl wasen't bad, had a couple funny scenes. The whole Affleck swearing at his 8 year old daughter and her saying that she wishes he was dead was a bit much though. I think its biggest problem was where does it fit? Its no way a family movie (even though it looks like it is), waaayyy too much swearing for that.
It's also not a Kevin Smith movie; after all there's no Jay and Silent Bob or any other returning characters. Speaking of Jay and Bob anyone see their cameo on Degrassi the new generation?

Another Kevin Smith fan checking in. While Jersey Girl was far from his best it wasn't with out it's moments. But his next movie should kick ass CLERKS 2 BABY!

Clerks 2 could rule or suck. Anytime they try to recapture unplanned magic - they seem to fail. I am a huge Smith fan ... and if anyone can do it - he can.
But I'm keeping my reservation.

I think it will work, I think he has the right idea which is to show the guys ten years later and not make another "I'm not even supposed to be here." It won't just be a rehash of the old film as many sequels are. I'd love to see where Dante and Randall are today, I loved the flying car skit which reunited them.
And speaking of DVD's, Chasing Amy X comes out in 2007 (confirmed). I've been tempted to get the Chasing Amy dvd thats out there now, but I may wait.
I'm glad he's making Clerks 2 but I was really looking forward to his take on the Green Hornet. At least he is still writing the script for it (his strongest area is his writing) even if he doesn't direct it. Maybe he will get to do Fletch after Clerks 2.

I'm looking forward to Fletch Won as well. I'm such a SLUT for the Fletch series already (even with Chevy gone, it could work) and Kevin already made me his bitch .. so, I'm ready.
I think Chasing Amy is bargain binned, so pick up a copy for $12 and enjoy it for a couple years :)

The Criterion edition of "Chasing Amy" is still worth buying as it can be found for under $15 easily. I can see holding off it the new edition was coming out in a few months but seeing that it will be a good two years before it comes out then I'd say go for buying the Criterion to tide you over til then. :D

Esp. since Criterion stuff gets retired all time - nice to have on hand.
I've still yet to figure out WHY I actually LIKE Chasing Amy ... I shouldn't .. but there is something about it that rocks.

I think Chasing Amy is that way for many people. One could even make the arguement that its somewhat of a chick flick but the thing is that its extremely well written, and of course really funny. A great movie no matter the genre is still a great movie.
I know many who consider Chasing Amy their favorite Kevin Smith movie. I normally hate Ben Affleck when he's in a movie but he works in this movie, actually overall his best work has been in Kevin Smith movies, he seems to know how to use him better than other directors.
And yeah I should stop being a cheap ass and pick up the dvd.
