Aqua Aqua is the squeal to the widly popular Wetrix which apeared on the N64 as well as PC,DC and GBC. Just to warn you before we get started though, I will be compairing this game to the orignal N64 wetrix since it was the only verson I played before this one.

So what is Aqua Aqua? Well it's a puzzle game which if you could'nt tell by the prequal's name, is inspired by Tetris but unlike most carbon copy Tetris clones this game takes the gender into a new direction. to quote the back of the box...
"Carefully manoruvre the blocks of land into the ground to trap the water. Spill to much water - you die!"
And that is pretty much the it, although the player must also contend with Earthquakes, Bombs, "Planet Monsters" and rain. Do well and you'll get "Lake Mates", "Auroras" (that red chap running about on that screen shot, they come in four color's!) and power-up's to help you agsint the above.

New for the new features of the game. Even though the graphics have been vastly improved over the last game the gameplay pretty much remains the same (simple but addictive) just with some tweaks like the new "bingo card" feature were if the player get a "line" they will activate certain powers for a limited amount of time greatly helping there chances of survial.

There are also new game play modes called "quest mode" which you will have to unlock as well as 2 player mode by doing the infurating "training mode" (also new) which just plain sucks because people should be able to play two player out of the box without having to do "training" first. OK back to the "Quest mode" which basicly see's the player defending the Auroras land from the nasty "Planet Monsters", survive three attacks and you beat the level, there are four levels in total and can be unlocked for multiplayer later on because you only start with one multiplayer world when you unlock VS mode.

All in all Aqua Aqua is a pretty solid game and can proberbly be found in bargin bins all across the land, I found my copy of the game for £3 in mint condition so if you come across this game in you're local video gaming store and if the shop is asking the right price for it (which they no doubt will because Aqua Aqua was unfortunatly not considered a huge hit more of a cult classic!) and you like uniqe Puzzle/Tetris games then I would sugest getting this game as it will most defenatly "float you're boat". (I know bad, bad pun haha!)

verdict: BUY IT!
